What is Vorifast 200mg (1X10) (VORICONAZOLE)?
Broad-spectrum triazole antifungal for invasive aspergillosis (first-line), invasive candidiasis, scedosporiosis, fusariosis, and other serious invasive fungal infections.
How it Works
Inhibits fungal CYP51 (lanosterol demethylase), blocking ergosterol biosynthesis. Broader spectrum than fluconazole — covers important mold species.

Common Side Effects
Visual disturbances (transient photopsia, color changes — very common, usually harmless), photosensitivity, elevated LFTs, hallucinations (elderly), QT prolongation.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Multiple major CYP450 interactions (inhibits CYP2C19, 2C9, 3A4) — contraindicated with rifampin, carbamazepine, sirolimus. Therapeutic drug monitoring recommended. Prolonged use associated with squamous cell carcinoma.
