Common Side Effects
Myalgia (most common reason for discontinuation), elevated liver enzymes, new-onset diabetes. Rare: rhabdomyolysis.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Myopathy risk greatly increased with gemfibrozil, niacin, cyclosporine, macrolide antibiotics, azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors. Grapefruit juice inhibits metabolism. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
