Common Side Effects
Myalgia (muscle pain — most common), elevated liver enzymes, headache. Rare: rhabdomyolysis especially at 40mg or with interacting drugs.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Avoid in pregnancy (teratogenic). Rhabdomyolysis risk with gemfibrozil, niacin, cyclosporine, azole antifungals. Asian patients may need lower starting doses. Monitor liver function if hepatic symptoms develop.
