What is Proscare 5mg (FINASTERIDE)?
5-alpha reductase inhibitor for male pattern baldness (1mg) and benign prostatic hyperplasia — BPH (5mg). Prevents conversion of testosterone to DHT, the androgen responsible for hair miniaturization and prostate enlargement.
How it Works
Type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitor — reduces DHT by approximately 70% while sparing testosterone. DHT miniaturizes scalp hair follicles; reduction halts hair loss and can regrow hair.

Common Side Effects
Sexual side effects in ~2–4%: decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory disorders. Gynecomastia (<1%). Post-Finasteride Syndrome (persistent side effects post-discontinuation) reported by some.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Pregnant women must NOT handle crushed tablets (teratogenic — feminizes male fetus). PSA suppressed ~50% — factor into prostate cancer screening. Not for women of childbearing potential.
