How it Works
SSRI with additional muscarinic, H1, and alpha-1 receptor antagonism — more anticholinergic and sedating than other SSRIs. Most protein-bound SSRI.

Common Side Effects
Sexual dysfunction (highest among SSRIs), weight gain, dry mouth, constipation, somnolence, sweating, nausea.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Worst discontinuation syndrome among SSRIs — taper very slowly over weeks to months. CYP2D6 inhibitor — multiple drug interactions. Do NOT combine with tamoxifen (reduces active endoxifen). MAOIs contraindicated.
