What is Paxidep Cr 25mg (PAROXETINE)?
SSRI for MDD, OCD, panic disorder, social anxiety, PTSD, GAD, and menopausal hot flashes (Brisdelle brand). Most potent SSRI for anxiety disorders.
How it Works
SSRI with additional muscarinic, H1, and alpha-1 receptor antagonism — more anticholinergic and sedating than other SSRIs. Most protein-bound SSRI.

Common Side Effects
Sexual dysfunction (highest among SSRIs), weight gain, dry mouth, constipation, somnolence, sweating, nausea.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Worst discontinuation syndrome among SSRIs — taper very slowly over weeks to months. CYP2D6 inhibitor — multiple drug interactions. Do NOT combine with tamoxifen (reduces active endoxifen). MAOIs contraindicated.
