What is Cardivas 6.25mg (1X10) (CARVEDILOL)?
Non-selective beta-blocker with alpha-1 blocking for heart failure (HFrEF), hypertension, and post-MI LV dysfunction. One of three beta-blockers proven to reduce heart failure mortality.
How it Works
Beta-1, beta-2, and alpha-1 receptor antagonist. Alpha-1 blockade provides additional vasodilation. Antioxidant properties may contribute to heart failure benefit.

Common Side Effects
Fatigue, dizziness (more than selective beta-blockers — alpha blockade), bradycardia, hypotension (especially first dose), cold extremities, weight gain in HF.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ First-dose hypotension especially if on diuretics — start low dose. Do not abruptly discontinue. Bronchospasm risk (non-selective). Masks hypoglycemia. Reduce dose in hepatic impairment.
