What is Bigomet SR 1000mg (METFORMIN)?

Common Side Effects
GI effects (nausea, diarrhea, metallic taste) — common early, improve with food and dose titration. Lactic acidosis (rare but serious). B12 deficiency with long-term use.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Hold 48h before contrast dye procedures. Contraindicated if eGFR under 30. Avoid in acute illness, excessive alcohol, hepatic failure. Supplement vitamin B12 long-term.
