How it Works
D2 and 5-HT2A antagonist with potent 5-HT7 antagonism (cognitive and antidepressant effects) and 5-HT1A partial agonism. Lower H1 and muscarinic affinity — better metabolic profile.

Common Side Effects
Akathisia, somnolence, nausea (especially early), weight gain (less than olanzapine/quetiapine), hyperprolactinemia, EPS (dose-dependent).
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Take with food (at least 350 calories — greatly increases absorption). Avoid strong CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers. Black box: increased mortality in elderly dementia patients.
