What is Vermisol 150mg (1×1) (IVERMECTIN)?
Antiparasitic for strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis, scabies, head lice, and filariasis. Used off-label in viral and oncological research contexts. COVID-19 use not supported by large RCTs.
How it Works
Binds glutamate-gated chloride channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells causing paralysis of parasites. Selectivity for invertebrate channels provides human safety margin.

Common Side Effects
Generally well tolerated. Mazzotti reaction when treating onchocerciasis. Dizziness, pruritus, nausea at high doses.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Caution in severe hepatic impairment. CNS penetration possible with P-gp inhibitors (increased neurotoxicity risk). Drug interactions with warfarin. Not for children under 15kg.
