What is Entavir 0.5mg (ENTECAVIR)?
Potent nucleoside analogue for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection — suppresses viral replication, reduces liver inflammation, and decreases risk of cirrhosis and HCC.
How it Works
Phosphorylated to active triphosphate — inhibits all three steps of HBV DNA polymerase. High genetic barrier to resistance development.

Common Side Effects
Excellent tolerability. Headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea. Lactic acidosis (rare class effect of nucleoside analogues).
Safety Warnings
⚠️ HIV resistance risk if used without HIV treatment in HIV-HBV coinfection — always test for HIV first. Severe HBV flare if discontinued — never stop without medical guidance. Renal dose adjustment.
