What is Eptus 50mg (EPLERENONE)?
Selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) for hypertension, heart failure post-MI, and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. More selective than spironolactone.
How it Works
Selective aldosterone receptor antagonist — blocks aldosterone-mediated sodium retention and potassium wasting. More selective than spironolactone with fewer anti-androgenic side effects.

Common Side Effects
Hyperkalemia (most significant risk), headache, dizziness, diarrhea, fatigue. Fewer gynecomastia/sexual side effects than spironolactone.
Safety Warnings
⚠️ Hyperkalemia — contraindicated in eGFR under 30, potassium over 5.0, or type 2 diabetes with microalbuminuria. Monitor potassium and renal function regularly. Avoid potassium supplements and potassium-sparing diuretics.
