Epitalon (Epithalamin) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) derived from Epithalamin, a natural polypeptide extracted from bovine pineal gland. Research by Vladimir Khavinson at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation established its telomerase-activating and neuroendocrine regulatory properties.
How Does Epitalon Work?
Epitalon activates telomerase (TERT) expression — the enzyme that extends telomere length, protecting chromosomal ends from progressive shortening during cell division. Also regulates pineal melatonin synthesis and modulates hypothalamic-pituitary neuroendocrine axis.
